Garden Green Beans With Bacon - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. fresh green beans, trimmed
    4 slices bacon, cut into 1/2-inch pieces
    1 c. sliced red onion, separated into rings
    3 Tbsp. butter or margarine
    1/2 tsp. pepper
    1/4 tsp. salt
Preparation
    In 3-quart saucepan, place beans and bacon.
    Add enough water to cover.
    Bring to a full boil.
    Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally until beans are crisp-tender (20 to 25 minutes). Drain.
    Return to pan.
    Add remaining ingredients.
    Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally until onion is crisp-tender (5 to 7 minutes).
    Yields 6 servings.
