Apple Stack Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. brown sugar
2 eggs, well beaten
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
flour (to make soft dough)
1 c. melted shortening
1/2 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 qt. cooked evaporated apples
Preparation

Mix sugar and shortening well. Add eggs, then buttermilk to which soda has been added. Sift flour, salt and spices together and add to first mixture. You may need more or less flour. Chill in the refrigerator so it can be handled. Turn into floured bowl. Separate into 6 portions. Cut bottom liners for round cake pans. Roll onto liners. Place in pan. Bake 15 minutes at 400\u00b0. Spread sweetened apples between layers.
