Fried Tomatoes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 firm green tomatoes
    1 egg, beaten
    1 c. dry flavored bread crumbs
    1/3 c. butter
    salt and pepper
Preparation
    Cut tomatoes in 3/4-inch slices.
    Dip into egg, then into bread crumbs, then carefully into egg and bread crumbs again. Melt butter in large skillet.
    Add green tomatoes slices and cook slowly until golden brown on each side and tomato is tender. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
    Makes 4 servings.
