Mrs. Pope'S Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/3 c. oil
    1/2 c. brown sugar or honey
    2 Tbsp. salt (we use half of that)
    1/2 c. dry milk
    5 c. warm water
    3 to 4 c. brown flour
    2 pkg. yeast
    1/2 c. warm water
    1 tsp. sugar
Preparation
    Dissolve yeast in 1/2 cup warm water and 1 teaspoon sugar. Let stand 10 minutes.
    Mix in all other ingredients and enough white flour to make a good texture.
    Put into a greased bowl; let rise until double in bulk (2 hours).
    Punch down and let rise again (1 to 1 1/2 hours).
    Knead well and form into loaves.
    Makes 4 large or 6 medium loaves.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 35 to 40 minutes.
