Vichyssoise(Cold Potato Soup) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 Tbsp. butter or margarine
    2 medium onions, sliced
    1 1/2 lb. potatoes, peeled and sliced thinly
    2 c. chicken broth
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    dash of pepper
    1 c. light cream
    2 c. heavy cream
    chopped chives for topping
Preparation
    Melt butter in heavy soup kettle.
    Saute onions until golden and soft.
    Add potatoes, chicken broth, salt and pepper; simmer on low heat until potatoes are very soft, even mushy.
    Blend or puree mixture in a food processor or press through a sieve with a wooden spoon.
    Return to kettle.
