Vinegar Taffy - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. Karo syrup (blue label)
    1 c. sugar
    2 Tbsp. butter
    1 Tbsp.vinegar
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/4 tsp. baking soda
Preparation
    Combine first 4 ingredients in saucepan.
    Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly, until sugar dissolves.
    Continue to cook to hard ball (260\u00b0).
    Remove from heat. Stir in soda and vanilla. Beat until smooth and creamy.
    Pour into a buttered pan. When cool enough to handle, pull with fingers until light in color.
    Pull in long strips about 3/4-inch in diameter. Cut in pieces (1-inch long).
    Wrap in wax paper.
