Texas Spoon Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3 c. milk
1 c. yellow cornmeal
1 Tbsp. butter
1 tsp. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. baking powder
3 eggs, separated
Preparation

In a saucepan, scald milk to 180\u00b0; stir in cornmeal.
Reduce heat; simmer 5 minutes, stirring constantly.
Remove from heat; stir in butter, sugar, salt and baking powder.
In small bowl, beat egg yolks; return all to pan and mix well.
Beat egg whites until soft peaks form and fold into hot mixture until well blended.
Pour into 8-inch greased baking dishes or divide into 6 French white individual bowls.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 40 to 45 minutes or large bowl for 30 minutes or less for smaller bowls or until well puffed and golden.
Use spoon to serve.
