Ingredients

2 1/2 qt. milk
3 3/4 c. sugar
3 Tbsp. cornstarch
4 egg yolks
4 egg whites, beaten
1 pt. cream
vanilla to taste
Preparation

Heat milk until hot.
Mix sugar and cornstarch; add a little milk to moisten.
Add egg yolks and mix well.
Pour gradually into hot milk.
Cook until it thickens (it takes a long time).
Pour into ice cream freezer and add remaining ingredients.
