Chewy Chocolate Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/4 c. butter or margarine, softened
    1 3/4 to 2 c. sugar
    2 eggs
    2 tsp. vanilla
    2 c. flour
    3/4 c. unsweetened cocoa
    1 tsp. baking soda
    dash of salt
    1 c. chopped nuts (optional)
Preparation
    Cream the butter and sugar in a large bowl.
    Add eggs and vanilla. Blend well. Combine flour, cocoa, soda and salt. Gradually blend into creamed mixture. Stir in nuts.
    Drop by teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 8 to 9 minutes. Do not overbake. Cookies will be soft.
    Cool on sheets until set, about 1 minute.
    Remove to wire rack to cool completely. Store in airtight container.
    Yields about 4 1/2 dozen.
