Herb Hot And Sour Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 lb. boneless chicken or pork
    3 Tbsp. soy sauce
    6 c. homemade chicken broth
    1 c. shredded cabbage
    1/2 c. finely chopped carrots
    3 Tbsp. red wine vinegar or white vinegar
    1 Tbsp. cornstarch
    2 Tbsp. thinly sliced chives or green onions
    4 oz. mushrooms
    1/2 tsp. pepper
    1/4 c. sugar
    1/2 tsp. basil
    1 Tbsp. cold water
Preparation
    Partially freeze chicken or pork.
    Cut meat into 1 x 1/4-inch strips.
    Sprinkle meat with 1 tablespoon of the soy sauce.
    In large saucepan, bring chicken broth to boiling; stir in meat, the remaining soy sauce, vinegar, pepper, sugar, mushrooms, cabbage and carrots.
    Simmer, covered, 20 minutes.
    Add basil; simmer 3 minutes.
