Long Johns - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 pkg. yeast
    2 c. lukewarm water
    2 c. mashed potatoes
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. sugar
    1 c. shortening
    5 eggs, beaten
    10 c. flour
Preparation
    Work like bread dough.
    Let rise until about double in size. Roll out and cut in strips and let rise again.
    Bake until light brown.
    Cool, then cut them through the middle.
    Fill with filling and spread over top.
