Wild Rice Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. wild rice
    1 1/2 c. water
    4 Tbsp. butter
    5 c. chicken broth
    1/2 tsp. thyme
    1 bay leaf
    2 c. half and half or 2 c. milk
    1/2 c. flour
    onion
    3 cloves garlic
    2 carrots, chopped
    dash of nutmeg
Preparation
    Cook wild rice in covered pan with 1 1/2 cups water.
    Melt butter in saucepan.
    Simmer garlic and onion.
    Add carrots; cook until tender.
    Add flour; cook over low heat.
    Pour in chicken broth.
    Add thyme, bay leaf, nutmeg, salt and pepper.
    Simmer for 20 minutes.
    Add half and half or milk; heat.
    Fold in rice mixture.
