Buttermilk Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. sugar
    1 c. shortening
    6 egg yolks
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 c. buttermilk
    1/4 tsp. soda
    3 c. flour
    2 tsp. vanilla
    6 egg whites
Preparation
    Mix sugar, shortening, egg yolks and salt and add buttermilk with soda.
    Add flour and vanilla.
    Beat egg whites stiff, but not dry.
    Fold into batter.
    Bake 1 hour and 35 minutes at 375\u00b0.
