Buttermilk Pound Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. shortening
    3 c. sugar
    6 eggs
    3 c. sifted flour
    1/4 tsp. soda
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 tsp. lemon or vanilla extract flavor
Preparation
    Cream shortening and sugar.
    Add eggs, one at a time.
    Sift flour and soda.
    Add to creamed mixture alternately with buttermilk, beginning and ending with flour.
    Add vanilla and blend well.
    Bake in a tube pan 45 to 55 minutes at 350\u00b0.
