Mom'S Garlic Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 pt. white vinegar
    1 pt. water
    3 c. sugar
    1/2 c. salt
    1 tsp. celery seed
    garlic (4 pieces to pt; 8 pieces to qt.)
    cucumbers (size of 1-inch less than qt. size jar)
Preparation
    Cut cucumbers in fours; line up in jar.
    Put garlic on bottom.
