Stuffed Pepper Cups - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 medium green peppers
    1 lb. ground beef (lean)
    1/3 c. chopped onion
    1 Tbsp. oil (optional)
    2 c. stewed tomatoes or 1 (1 lb.) can
    3/4 c. packaged precooked rice
    2 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
    salt and pepper to taste
    1 c. shredded sharp process American cheese
Preparation
    Remove tops of peppers, seeds and membranes (pepper tops may be diced without seeds, stem and membranes and added to meat). *Parboil pepper cups in boiling salted water about 5 minutes. Drain.
    Brown meat and onion (in oil if desired); add tomatoes, rice and Worcestershire.
    Salt and pepper to taste.
    Cover and simmer until rice is almost tender (about 5 minutes).
    Add cheese. Stuff peppers; stand upright in 10 x 6 x 1 1/2-inch dish.
    Bake, uncovered, at 350\u00b0 for 25 minutes or until hot.
    Sprinkle with more cheese.
    Serves 6.
