Sweet And Sour Spareribs - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 clove garlic, chopped
    2 lb. spareribs (pork)
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/4 c. Karo syrup
    1 medium onion, chopped
    1 (8 oz.) can pineapple chunks
    1/4 c. vinegar
    1/4 c. soy sauce
    2 Tbsp. cornstarch
Preparation
    Cut spareribs into 1-inch pieces.
    Season with salt.
    Let stand 10 minutes.
    Brown spareribs in skillet; drain off fat. Pour vinegar over ribs.
    Add chopped garlic; cover and steam for 5 to 10 minutes.
    Add sugar, Karo syrup and soy sauce; mix well. Add pineapple chunks with syrup.
    Bring to boil.
    Just before serving, add cornstarch, diluted in small amount of water.
    Serve hot.
    Serves 5.
