Shoo-Fly Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. flour
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 refrigerated ready to bake pie shell
    1 c. simmering water
    1 c. light brown sugar
    1 1/2 sticks butter
    1 c. molasses
Preparation
    Sift together the flour, sugar and baking soda.
    Using pastry cutter, food processor or 2 knives, cut 10 tablespoons of butter into flour mixture until mixture resembles coarse meal. Refrigerate.
    Line a 10-inch pie plate with pie crust; crimp edges.
    Preheat oven to 375\u00b0.
    Mix molasses and water; pour 1/3 of mixture into pie crust.
    Sprinkle with 1/3 of flour mixture. Repeat this process, alternating layers, ending with flour mixture.
    Dot top with remaining butter.
    Bake for 50 minutes. Serve warm or at room temperature.
    Makes 16 servings.
