Seven Layer Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 large head iceberg lettuce, washed and drained
    1/2 c. chopped bell pepper
    3/4 c. thinly sliced celery
    1 medium onion, thinly sliced
    1 pkg. frozen English peas, slightly cooked and cooled
    8 slices crispy fried bacon, crumbled
    2 c. mayonnaise
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    4 to 6 oz. grated Cheddar cheese
Preparation
    Tear lettuce into bite size pieces. Using large casserole dish, layer first 6 ingredients as listed. Add sugar to mayonnaise and spread over top like frosting. Top with cheese. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
