Butterscotch Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. milk, scalded
    1 1/4 c. brown sugar
    1/3 c. flour
    1/8 tsp. salt
    3 eggs, separated
    2 Tbsp. butter
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Heat milk to scalding.
    Blend sugar, flour and salt.
    Add to milk and cook over low heat, about 15 minutes.
    Beat egg yolks and add to hot mixture.
    Remove from stove and add butter and vanilla. Cool.
    Pour into baked pie shell.
    Cover with meringue.
    Put in oven about 5 minutes for meringue to lightly brown.
