Vidalia Onion Dip - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    5 to 6 Vidalia onions, sliced thinly, then quartered
    1/2 c. white vinegar
    2 c. water
    1 c. sugar
    1/2 c. Miracle Whip salad dressing
    celery seed
Preparation
    Mix vinegar, water and sugar.
    Marinate onions in mixture overnight in refrigerator.
    Drain onions, the next morning, for at least 2 hours in a colander.
    Mix drained onions with salad dressing and generous amount of celery seed.
    Serve on any type crackers or use for party open-faced sandwiches.
    Keeps well in sealed container in refrigerator for several weeks.
