Banana Nut Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 c. sugar
    2 eggs, beaten
    2 tsp. vanilla
    2 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
    3/4 tsp. salt
    3/4 tsp. baking soda
    1/4 tsp. nutmeg
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1/4 c. sour milk (milk plus 1 Tbsp. lemon juice)
    1 c. mashed, ripe bananas
    1 c. pecans, chopped
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 325\u00b0.
    Combine flour, baking powder, salt, baking soda and spices; set aside.
    In separate bowl, combine sour milk (lemon juice should make the milk curdle), mashed bananas and nuts; set aside.
    Now cream together the shortening and sugar. Add eggs and vanilla; mix well.
    Alternately add dry ingredients and sour milk mixture to the creamed mixture; mix well.
    Pour batter into greased and floured loaf pans (2).
    Bake 45 to 50 minutes.
