Corn Chowder - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 medium-size potatoes (about 1 lb.), peeled and diced (2 1/2 c.)
    1 c. water
    1/2 c. chopped onion
    1 (11 oz.) can kernel corn, drained
    1 (8 3/4 oz.) can creamed corn
    1 (12 oz.) can evaporated milk
    1 Tbsp. butter or margarine
    1/2 tsp. each salt and pepper
    chili powder (for garnish)
Preparation
    (Leftover ham or cooked seafood can be added for an even heartier meal.)
