Sweet And Sour Sauce - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. chicken broth or water
    1/3 c. white vinegar
    1 tsp. vegetable oil
    1 tsp. soy sauce
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 clove garlic, crushed
    2 Tbsp. cornstarch
    2 Tbsp. cold water
    1 tomato, cut into 16 pieces
    1 small green pepper, cut into 1-inch pieces
    1 (8 1/4 oz.) can pineapple chunks in syrup, drained
Preparation
    Heat sugar, broth, vinegar, oil, soy sauce, salt and garlic to boiling in a 2-quart saucepan over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally.
    Mix cornstarch and water; stir into sugar mixture. Cook and stir until thickened, about 10 seconds.
    Stir in tomato, green pepper and pineapple.
    Heat to boiling.
    Makes about 2 1/2 cups sauce, 140 calories per 1/2 cup.
