Shrimp Stroganoff - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. fresh or frozen shrimp in shells
    1 Tbsp. olive oil
    8 oz. fresh mushrooms, sliced
    1 shallot, chopped
    1 Tbsp. margarine
    2/3 c. white wine
    1/2 c. sour cream
    1 Tbsp. cornstarch
    1/2 (12 oz.) jar roasted red sweet peppers, drained and cut into thin strips
    hot fettuccine
Preparation
    Peel and devein shrimp, reserving shells for shrimp broth. (May use chicken broth in place of shrimp broth.)
    Place shells in a saucepan with 2 cups of water; bring to boiling.
    Reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, 10 minutes.
    Strain broth; discard shells.
