Harvard Beets - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. can diced beets (save 1/3 liquid)
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    1 Tbsp. cornstarch
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/4 c. vinegar
    2 Tbsp. batter
Preparation
    Combine in a saucepan the sugar, cornstarch and salt.
    Stir in reserved liquid, vinegar and batter.
    Cook and stir until mixture thickens and bubbles.
    Add beets; heat through.
    Serves 4 or 5.
