Macaroni And Cheese - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. elbow macaroni, cooked al dente
    4 Tbsp. melted butter
    2 Tbsp. flour
    1 qt. milk (approximately)
    1 lb. American cheese (reserve 6 slices)
    Parmesan or Romano grated cheese
    black pepper
Preparation
    In a large saucepan, combine butter and flour, stirring well. Add milk, starting with 2 cups. When warm, start adding American cheese, slice by slice, using a whisk. Add enough milk to make mixture thin consistency.
    Sprinkle in Parmesan or Romano cheese and black pepper.
    Place cooked macaroni in pan.
    Pour milk/cheese mixture over, completely covering macaroni. Add more milk, if needed.
    Place 6 slices of reserved cheese on top of casserole, overlapping. Bake in a 350\u00b0 oven in a 13 x 9-inch pan sprayed with Pam until light brown.
