Lighter Pumpkin Pie - cooking recipe

1 unbaked 9-inch deep-dish pie shell
3/4 c. granulated sugar
1 Tbsp. cornstarch
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. ground ginger
1/2 tsp. salt
2 egg whites
1 3/4 c. (16 oz. can) solid pack pumpkin
1 1/2 c. (12 oz. can) evaporated skimmed milk
Preparation

Prepare pie shell.
Heat oven to 425\u00b0.
Combine sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon, ginger and salt in small bowl.
Beat egg whites lightly in large bowl.
Stir in pumpkin and sugar mixture. Gradually stir in evaporated milk.
Pour into pie shell.
Bake at 425\u00b0 for 15 minutes, lower temperature to 350\u00b0 and bake 30 to 40 minutes or until knife inserted in center comes out clean.
