Roll Out Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. butter
    1 large egg
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. sugar
    2 tsp. baking powder
    2 3/4 c. flour
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 400\u00b0.
    In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar with an electric mixer.
    Beat eggs and vanilla.
    Add baking powder and flour, one cup at a time, mixing after each addition.
    The dough will be very stiff.
    Blend last flour in by hand.
    Do not cut dough.
    Divide dough into 2 balls.
    Roll out on a floured surface until about 1/8-inch thick.
    Dip cookie cutters in flour before each use.
    Bake cookies for 6 to 7 minutes or until lightly browned.
