New Zealand Shortbread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 lb. butter (2 sticks)
    3/4 c. sugar
    1/2 c. cornstarch
    2 c. flour
    1/4 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Cream butter and sugar well (this means the sugar has dissolved). Add sifted flour, cornstarch and salt. Knead well; roll out to 1/2 to 3/4-inch thick. Cut into pieces; place on cold greased cookie sheet. Prick (fork holes) and bake 30 to 40 minutes at 300\u00b0. May also cook on one greased tin in which case, then cut into shapes while hot.
