Turtle Brownie Squares - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 box German chocolate cake mix
    5 oz. can evaporated milk
    3/4 c. walnuts, roughly chopped (opt.)
    6 oz. pkg. choc. chips
    2/3 c. margarine, melted
    14 oz. pkg. caramels
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
    In a medium saucepan melt caramels with 1/2 of the evaporated milk.
    Keep warm.
    In a medium bowl mix dry cake mix, melted margarine, remaining milk, and nuts.
    Spread 1/2 of the dough into an ungreased 9 by 13 inch pan and bake in preheated oven for 6 minutes.
    Remove pan from oven and sprinkle chocolate chips over the baked cake.
    Drizzle caramel mixture over the chips.
    Drop remaining dough evenly onto caramel layer.
    Bake for 15 to 20 minutes.
    Cool completely.
    Cut into squares and enjoy.
    Because of the milk, this will need to be kept in the refrigerator.
