Pumpkin Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 2/3 c. sugar
    2/3 c. shortening
    4 eggs
    1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
    2/3 c. water
    2 c. pumpkin
    3 1/3 c. flour
    1 rounded tsp. baking powder
    2 tsp. baking soda
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    2 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. cloves
    1 c. raisins
    1 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
    Mix first 4 ingredients well, then add alternately the flour, spices, baking powder and soda, sifted together, with the water and pumpkin.
    Mix well after each addition.
    When well mixed, fold in raisins and nuts.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 45 to 60 minutes, until done, when tested.
    Makes 4 loaves (8 x 3/4 x 2 1/2-inch).
