Apple Bars - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. shortening
    2 1/2 c. flour
    1 Tbsp. sugar
    dash of salt
    1 egg yolk and enough water to make 2/3 c.
    1/4 to 1/2 c. cornflakes
    8 to 10 apples, peeled and sliced
    1 c. sugar
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 Tbsp. flour
    1 egg white
Preparation
    Mix first 4 ingredients with pastry cutter.
    Beat egg
    yolk and water mixture, then mix into crust mixture. Take half of the dough mixture and roll out to fit jelly roll pan. Sprinkle cornflakes over dough.
