Ingredients

3/4 c. shortening
2 1/4 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. ginger
1 egg
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. molasses
2 tsp. soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
Preparation

Mix shortening, sugar, egg and molasses. Sift dry ingredients and mix into shortening mixture. Chill dough.
Roll into 1-inch balls.
Dip into sugar and cinnamon.
Place 3-inches apart on greased cookie sheet. Bake just until set, but not hard, about 10 to 12 minutes in a 375\u00b0 oven.
