Colonial Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 pkg. yeast
3 1/2 c. flour
1/3 c. cornmeal
1 1/2 c. boiling water
1/3 c. molasses
1 tsp. salt
1 Tbsp. butter (room temperature)
Preparation

Place cornmeal in
bowl.
Carefully
pour boiling water into bowl
on cornmeal.\tStir
until
smooth.
Let
stand
30 minutes. Stir in salt,
butter
and molasses.
Mix with flour and
yeast. Let
rise until double in bulk.
Punch down. Form into
loaf
and place in large loaf pan.
Let rise again. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 50 minutes.
Makes 1 (1 1/2 pound) loaf.
