Ingredients

1 c. finely chopped suet
2 beaten eggs
1/2 c. dark corn syrup
1 1/4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. soda
1/4 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 tsp. allspice
1/4 tsp. cloves
1/2 c. water
1/2 c. each: currants, raisins, chopped dates and chopped walnuts
Preparation

Mix suet, eggs and corn syrup.
Sift dry ingredients and add in turn with water; stir in remaining ingredients.
Fill well-greased 1 1/2-quart mold 2/3 full.
Cover tightly; steam 1 1/2 to 2 hours.
Serve with hot Lemon-Nutmeg Sauce (recipe follows).
