Taffy Apples - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    2 c. light corn syrup
    2 (1 3/4 oz. size) bottles cinnamon candies (1/3 c.)
    1/2 tsp. red food coloring
    1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    6 medium red apples (McIntosh or Red Delicious)
    6 wooden skewers
Preparation
    In medium saucepan, combine sugar, corn syrup and cinnamon candies with 1 cup water.
    Over medium heat, stir constantly, just until sugar and candies are dissolved.
    Do not boil.
    Add food coloring and cinnamon.
    Stir to mix well.
    Bring syrup to boiling. Continue cooking, without stirring, to 300\u00b0 on candy thermometer.
