Tiptop Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking powder
1 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

Cream shortening and add sugar gradually.
Add eggs and beat until light and fluffy.
Sift flour, salt and baking powder.
Add dry ingredients alternately with milk and flavoring.
Beat thoroughly after each addition.
Makes 2 (8-inch) layers or 1 (3 1/2 x 8 x 4-inch) loaf.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 minutes for layers and 45 minutes for loaf.
I use this cake when I need to bake something quick.
