Brown Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    1 1/2 c. raisins
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 egg
    2 tsp. baking soda
    1 Tbsp. butter
    salt to taste
    2 c. flour
Preparation
    Pour 1 1/2 cups boiling water over the list of ingredients, except the egg and flour.
    Let stand about 8 hours.
    Add the egg and flour (same bowl).
    Pour into greased loaf pan or tin cans. Excellent with cheese.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 45 minutes or until done. Makes 1 large loaf or 2 small loaves.
