White Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. boiling water
    1 c. cold milk
    3 Tbsp. shortening
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    2 tsp. salt
    2 pkg. dry yeast or yeast cake
    1/4 c. lukewarm water
    6 to 7 c. sifted all-purpose flour
Preparation
    Place the yeast in 1/4 cup lukewarm water; stir until well blended.
    Pour one cup of boiling water over shortening, sugar and salt; mix together.
    Add one cup cold milk.
    Add yeast to the milk mixture.
    Stir in enough flour to make a stiff dough.
