Raisin Loaf Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 box raisins (15 oz.)
    2 c. water
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. nutmeg
    2 Tbsp. butter or shortening
    1 tsp. vanilla extract
    2 1/2 c. sifted flour
    1 tsp. baking soda
    2 1/2 c. sifted flour
Preparation
    Place raisins, water, sugar, salt, spices and butter in saucepan.
    Bring to a boil.
    Reduce heat and simmer 10 minutes. Let cool to lukewarm.
    Stir in baking soda.
    Stir until foaming sets.
    Stir in sifted flour and turn into a well-greased loaf pan. Bake in heated oven at 350\u00b0 for approximately 1 hour or until cake tester comes out clean.
    Cool.
    Stores good wrapped in foil until needed.
    Refrigerate.
