Peanut Butter Crisscrosses - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. shortening
    1 c. granulated sugar
    1 c. brown sugar
    2 eggs
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. peanut butter
    2 c. sifted flour
    2 tsp. soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Thoroughly cream together the shortening, sugars, eggs and vanilla.
    Stir in the peanut butter.
    Sift the flour, soda and salt; stir into the creamed mixture.
    Roll into 1-inch balls; place on ungreased cookie sheet.
    Press each cookie with back of floured fork to make crisscross.
    Bake in a moderate oven (350\u00b0) for about 9 minutes, or until light brown.
    Yields 5 dozen.
