Holiday Fruit Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 c. brown sugar
    1 egg
    1 3/4 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. soda
    1/4 c. sour milk (buttermilk)
    1 c. pecans, broken
    1 c. candied cherries, cut in half
    1 c. dates, cut up
Preparation
    Mix all ingredients. Drop by small teaspoonfuls and place a pecan half in each. Bake 9 to 10 minutes at 400\u00b0. Yield: 3 1/2 dozen.
