Czechoslovakian Pastry Bars - cooking recipe

3/4 lb. (3 sticks) \"I Can't Believe It's Not Butter\", softened
1 1/4 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. salt
3 3/4 c. all-purpose flour, divided
1 c. chopped walnuts
1 (12 oz.) jar raspberry preserves or jam
Preparation

Heat oven to 350\u00b0.
In large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
Beat in eggs and vanilla until combined.
In medium bowl, mix salt with 3 1/2 cups flour. Gradually add to butter mixture to form thick batter.
