Grandma Graham'S Sugar Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1 c. shortening
    2 eggs, well beaten
    1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
    3 1/2 c. flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Add sugar gradually to shortening and cream until light and fluffy.
    Beat in eggs and vanilla.
    Sift flour, baking powder and salt together.
    Add to sugar mixture, blending well.
    Chill for several hours.
    Roll 1/8-inch thick floured board and cut into desired shape.
    Sprinkle with additional sugar.
    Bake at 400\u00b0 for 6 to 8 minutes.
