Zucchini Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 lb. zucchini, sliced in 1-inch pieces
    2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. garlic powder
    2 cans chicken broth
    1 1/2 c. half and half
    1 tsp. onion powder
    1/8 tsp. white pepper
    1/2 c. water
    chopped chives
Preparation
    Combine zucchini, seasonings, chicken broth and water.
    Bring to boil.
    Cover and cook over moderate heat until tender, about 10 minutes.
    Blend zucchini slices and broth, 1/3 at a time, in a blender until smooth. Combine with half and half and stir over moderate heat until heated through.
    If refrigerated, reheat slowly and do not boil.
    Garnish with a sprinkling of chives. Makes 8 servings.
    May be frozen.
