Caramel Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 egg yolks, beaten
    2 c. milk
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 stick butter
    1 tsp. vanilla
    6 heaping Tbsp. flour
    3/4 c. sugar
    1 c. sugar
Preparation
    Combine beaten egg yolks, milk and salt and stir.
    Place in a double boiler and add butter; melt and add combined flour and 3/4 cup of sugar.
    Stir thoroughly and gradually add to heated mixture.
    Allow this to reach a consistency where a spoon will leave an indention in the mixture when removed.
    Remove from heat. In an aluminum skillet, caramelize 1 cup of sugar on high, stirring constantly.
    Sugar is caramelized when all the granules have dissolved and turns color of old penny.
    Do not burn. Quickly pour caramel mixture into thickened eggs.
    Beat with mixer.
    Add vanilla.
    Pour into cooked pie crust.
    Top with meringue.
