Ziti With Hearty Meat Sauce - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 Tbsp. olive oil
    2 Tbsp. butter
    2 Tbsp. chopped parsley
    1 medium onion, chopped
    1 large carrot, shredded (1 c.)
    1 lb. boneless beef chuck shoulder, finely chopped or very lean ground beef
    2/3 c. milk
    28 oz. can Italian style tomatoes, chopped
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    3/4 tsp. sugar
    1/2 tsp. fresh pepper
Preparation
    In heavy 4-quart pan over medium heat, cook oil, butter, parsley, onion and carrot until tender.
    Add meat and cook until meat loses its pink color.
    Increase heat to medium-high.
    Add milk and cook until it evaporates, stirring often.
    Stir in tomatoes and juice; add spices.
    Heat to boiling.
    Reduce heat to low and simmer, uncovered, 1 1/2 hours.
    Cook ziti al dente and drain.
    Serve sauce over noodles.
    (Good with green salad and French bread.)
