Doughnuts - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 eggs
    1 c. sugar
    1/4 c. melted shortening
    1 c. buttermilk
    4 c. flour
    4 tsp. baking powder
    3/4 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. nutmeg
Preparation
    Put eggs, sugar, shortening and milk into bowl; mix well. Sift together remaining ingredients.
    Add to first mixture; mix well.
    Roll out 1/4-inch thick on floured board; cut with doughnut cutter.
    Fry in deep fat at 390\u00b0 until light brown, turning only once.
    Makes 24.
