Eight Layer Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 head lettuce, chopped
    1 c. celery, chopped
    1 green pepper, diced
    1 red or white onion, chopped
    1/2 c. bacon bits
    1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen green peas, cooked or 1 can green peas
    2 c. Ranch-style dressing
    1 (8 oz.) pkg. grated cheese
Preparation
    In an oblong glass dish, layer lettuce, celery, green peppers, onions, peas and lettuce again.
    \"Frost\" with dressing; sprinkle with cheese.
    Refrigerate overnight.
    Add bacon bits before serving.
    Serves 10.
